Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show - Saddlebred At the Tate Show Grounds in Blowing Rock. The atmosphere at a Saddlebred show is electric, with spectators shouting encouragement and rooting for their favorites from the stands. Come see the excitement! The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show is one of the oldest horse show events in the country and has been a Blowing Rock tradition since 1923. For more information, call 828-295-4700. |

Community Pasta Dinner 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Greenway Baptist Church Family Life Center, 880 Greenway Road, Boone. Held in conjunction with the Hunter‘s Heroes Memorial Run for Deputy William Mast Jr. on June 8th, the proceeds from this dinner will benefit the Lilly Grace College Fund in memory of Peyton Townsend. And this event is not just for runners of the Hunter’s Heroes Memorial Run! Anyone can partake and have a great dinner with friends and family! Invite your friends! Tickets can be purchased online at Active.com either with your race entry or separately. Your tickets will be available at the door. Tickets can also be purchased at the dinner. The menu includes spaghetti, choice of marinara or meat sauce, bread, and salad. All of this yummy food has been graciously provided through donations from local businesses and restaurants. |

Hunter‘s Heroes Memorial Run for Deputy William Mast Jr. Hunter’s Heroes Scholarship is happy to announce the first annual HUNTER’S HEROES 10 Miler/5K, on June 8th, 2013! Hunter‘s Heroes is a memorial run in honor of fallen Deputy William Mast Jr. Hunter Mast is the son of the late Deputy Mast and wife, Paige. On July 26th, 2012 family and friends, the Watauga County Sheriff‘s Office, and the community of Watauga County were devastated by the loss of Deputy Mast. That day marked the rise of a hero that will never be forgotten. Hunter‘s Heroes sole purpose is to show support and remembrance to the family of Deputy Mast.
