Make Family Memories—Celebrate Halloween in Blowing Rock!

Halloween Costumes

Life is all about making memories, and you will delight in being a part of Halloween in our charming town!

Book your stay at the Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock and walk 1 block to Blowing Rock’s Halloween Festivities! Book online, or give us a call at 828-295-4300.

Make it easy on the children and stay both Friday and Saturday nights. (Our Front Desk is open 24/7.) Staying both nights will allow plenty of time and space to don costumes and makeup for children and parents. When Saturday’s events end, little ones can swim in Meadowbrook’s indoor pool, or just fall asleep after a long, wonderful, fun-filled day with their very own special family.

When? Saturday, October 26, 2013

BRING:

  • Your kids and their costumes.
  • Your flashlights.
  • Your camera/phone.
  • A chair for parade watching.
  • Parents and Grandparents – Bring your costumes, as well!
  • Parade Watchers? Wear your orange, black, and fall colors!

The event kicks off at 2pm on Saturday with “Creepy Crafts” at the art museum. In Memorial Park you’ll find Air Walks, Games and the Fun House.

From 4-8pm, hayrides through town will delight all ages!

And then…“The Monster March” showcases costumed kids and their parents (plus pets, bikes, strollers, and wagons) all decked out…and walking down Main Street beginning at 5:30pm. (Children absolutely love being in a parade with their family!) Parade watchers abound for this event! After this 15 minutes of fame, families take their children up and down Main Street to trick-or-treat at our downtown stores marked with balloons!

The annual Costume Contest kicks off at 7pm at the Recreation Center.

But, for ages 6-13 (with parents in tow), there is still the Moonlight Scavenger Hunt to be accomplished at our beautiful Broyhill Lake, in the center of the park…close enough to be downtown, dark enough to be just a tiny bit scary (So bring your flashlights.)!
